Support for substance-use problems

Blákrossheimið provides residential and outpatient treatment for adults with substance-use problems, as well as outpatient support for relatives. Its treatment is primarily based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DAT/DBT). Residential care may include detoxification, group sessions, individual counselling, trauma-focused therapy and family involvement.

Outpatient treatment is group-based, meets once a week and is available in Tórshavn and Nes. A separate outpatient programme is also available for women.

Support for young people

DAT Ung is an outpatient programme in Tórshavn for young people aged 15–25. It includes weekly individual sessions and group-based skills training, so residential admission is not required. The official page does not state that the programme is free of charge.
